Growing Up

It is amazing how fast kids grow. I hadn't realized that Lydia was such a big girl until we went to the Zoo yesterday. It was a beautiful day and we knew the next 2 days it was going to be raining all day, so we went to the Zoo to burn off some energy. Lydia of course wanted to walk the whole time, fine by me because I wanted her to get some exercise. Well, the entire time she was so excited she was squealing and knew almost every animal by name. She had to do everything by herself. It was only when she could barely walk/run anymore that she wanted to have anything to do with me or Michael. When did she become so independent? Is she 1 going on 18? At least Eli is still little and needs me.

Sometimes it's all worth it

Being a mom is HARD! Especially with 2 under 2! Well, today was a turning point. Today I got to see my two beautiful kids "play" together and really enjoy each other. Eli was in his exersaucer playing and Lydia was doing her own thing. I went to change over the laundry and when I came back Lydia was talking up a storm. Not that unusual because she is always talking, but then I heard Eli. He was giggling! When I walked in I was greeted with this.

All because of the economy

Well, desperate times call on desperate measures. So we are doing our part to try to save money. In particular, Lydia has decided that the way she will help is to conserve water. Let me being by telling you how this all started. Lydia likes to help me cook. So when we are cooking, she sits on the counter and helps me measure things (we don't have a chair that is tall enough, and I watch her the whole time so really it is very safe... we are attached the whole time). Well, one day she wanted to help me wash the measuring cups. She was sitting next to the sink and the next thing I know she is in the sink... the side filled with water and bubbles. To her it must have looked like a hot tub or something, but she was fully clothed! So, since then, every time I am washing dishes, she is at my feet screaming "Bath, Bathhh!" while she is tearing off her clothes at a feverish pace. So, let this be a lesson to us all, do what you can to conserve and save money.

Update

Well, I am sure you all have been worried about all us sickies! Good news, I am 100% better, Eli is 90% (still coughs sometimes) and Lydia is 50% better. So we are all recovering, it's just taking a while for Miss Lydia. Also, our open house went great. We didn't get an offer, but we got great feedback, which our realtor says is the main goal to get people in to see the house. I know many of you are wondering... "where are they going to move to?" We have decided to make our move to Nashville, and are actively looking for a house there just in case we get an offer soon. (Fingers and toes crossed!)

I was wrong!

Let me start by saying this, I am not wrong about much... that I will admit too. But, my last post, I was VERY wrong! I am sick, sick, sick! I feel horrible and Lydia is still sick, and Eli now is coughing and I have no desire to clean this house for an open house tomorrow. Why in the world are we doing an open house? Who ever buys a house at open house, says my mom. Well, if I am going to have to clean it feeling like this, someone better. And with that, I am off to take my cold medicine and to bed at the nice early time of 9:00 pm (I am officially old).

Sick Days

Well, it has been a couple days since my last post. Poor sweet Lydia has been sick, with something. She is on the mend and I am happy to say no one else has gotten sick, yet! Mom, you should be happy to know that all she wanted to do was watch her "show" (the ones you got her) on the couch. She felt so bad she didn't want to play, or even go outside (we had 2 beautiful days of @70 degree weather). In unrelated news, as you all may know, our house is on the market and Michael and I have been crazy busy getting the house ready for an open house we are having this Sunday. Hopefully we will get a good offer so we can move and get on with the next stage of our lives.

First Meal

Well, I think Eli's first meal went pretty good today. He actually spit very little out. However, his face every time he took a bit he made the funniest face. It was obviously not as good as what he has had for the last 4 months, but he was willing to give it a try. Yes, Lauren, we did use those beautiful bowls you got for him. They worked GREAT!

She did it herself

Today Lydia got into my purse and seems to have found my lipstick. I think it's obvious that she will have my nack for putting on makeup (I am good at it... when I wear it). Look, almost all of it is actually on the lips.

Happy 4 month Eli

Well, today is Eli's 4 month Birthday (we are actually off 1 day), so what better way to celebrate than a visit to the doctor to get shots. Our big guy, is still growing like a weed! He is now 17 lbs 3 oz, in the 87% for his age and 25 1/2 inches tall, which is the 73%. The doctor thinks he is going to be a little over 6 foot tall and about 180-185 when he is all grown up. Now, Eli gets to learn all about the wonders of "solid foods", so look for pictures of a messy baby face coming soon. Happy 4 month Eli!

And here we go

Well, I took a very wise friends advice to start a blog. Since I am addicted to checking her blog, hopefully I will pick up some equally devoted followers. Well, today was a BEAUTIFUL day, and of course the way we celebrated by... working on the house! Lydia got out today and strolled her little Elephant that Grammy got for her around the house 5 times, each time she got a little fast. She is still working towards running... almost there.
