Our first Farmer's Market of the summer

As many of our friends know, we LOVE to frequent the Farmer's Market downtown at Market Square. Saturday was the perfect day to do it, beautiful, but not too hot yet. With swimsuits in tow, we headed out with Grammy while Michael stayed home to sleep (just got off work). Though there weren't many purchases made, we all had a good time. Grammy bought me some BEAUTIFUL flowers for my table, and we were all so good we grabbed some cookies and us big girls got a coffee to enjoy.

Memorial day

We celebrated our Memorial day this year up at Grammy's house. We had such a good time. Mamaw was there and Aunt Christy (Tristy... for Lydia). The kids were excited because we got to hang outside pretty much all day, and in the pool. Food was great. Hope you all had a good memorial day, and kept those in mind that lost their lives so we can live the way we do today.

Pony tail

As some know, we haven't cut Lydia's hair yet. Regardless of the reason, we get some flack about if from some people (you know who you are). To make matters worse, Lydia HATES things in her hair. Today we had a break-through. Lydia actually came to me with the hair tie and asked me to put it in her hair. This in itself is not that unusual, she does it often to tease me I think, but today she actually let me put it in her hair. Not only that, she actually ran to her room afterwards to check out her 'do! She loved it, kept touching it, and giggling. Looking in the mirror. So here is a picture of her first ponytail. You will have to forgive how bad it is, as I didn't really think she would let me put it in her hair, and she has an issue with the hair brush. ENJOY

Some like it raw

Lydia loves corn! Always has. She likes to help me cook dinner as much as possible. Yesterday we were having corn on the cob and she was "helping" me shuck the corn. Next thing I know she is chowing down on it. TOO CUTE! She was happy as a lark, just munching away on that corn, and only got upset when the strings got in her mouth (quite frankly I get mad about that too), or when it was actually time to cook it.So good she wouldn't even look up for me!

Two men... ahhh one man one woman... in a tub

Lydia and Eli are officially taking baths together. Eli splashes WAY too much for his baby tub anymore. I wish I had a pick of them together in the tub, but here is one of each of them together. For the most part Lydia ignores Eli in the tub unless he grabs one of "her" toys. But, we are working on sharing, or at least trading for something else.
Another smile!
Lydia washing her "baby"

Gotcha!

Eli is very serious all the time, as you can tell by most of the photos'. Well, I got him smiling!!!!! Can't believe it! See he does know how to smile!

Lydia and her many colors

Lydia is truly becoming a little woman. She loves all of the girly things, like sunglasses, strollers, babies, and dancing. I love you Lydia!

Happy 7 months!

Time is just flying by. I can't believe how big my little boy is getting. It seems like just yesterday that I was laying in bed with him sick as a dog with that horrible kidney infection. Now he's rolling like a alligator, sitting up like a pro, nothing within reach is safe from his exploring hands. Elijah is such a joy to have around. He takes life very seriously, so it's hard to get a picture of him smiling (always studying the camera). His laugh is infectious and so is his smile, when he rewards you with one. Eli, I'm so happy to have you as a son and part of our family.

Play time

From Eli's first Christmas, we had many presents that he would grow into. Since his is sitting up now and like to grab anything in reach we are bringing up the new toys one at a time. Lydia thinks this is the best thing too. She loves showing Eli how all the new toys work. This is why it is so great to have them close in age. I love it every time Lydia gives him a kiss, and how Eli grins every time he sees her. Here is another picture of them playing with one of the new toys.

monkey's in bed

Lydia and Eli have really taken to playing together. During one of the many cleanings of the house, getting ready for an open house, I put Eli in his bed to play while I cleaned his room. Lydia wanted in his bed, so I let her up too. They played together in his bed for about an hour! NEVER have I had a more "peaceful" cleaning of the house before.
