It's official, Eli is pulling up to standing. He is such a big boy! I can't believe how fast he is changing I can hardly keep up. I really need to update his baby book... maybe I should do it now instead of watching TV and Blogging!?

Brotherly/Sisterly love
I always thought it was just my brothers and our relationships that drove me nuts when I was younger. After seeing Eli and Lydia interact I think it comes quite naturally for sisters to dislike their brothers and brothers to like to torment their sisters. Michael gets a kick out of how Eli just touching Lydia will send her on a tizzy (that's a hissy fit for those that aren't familiar with my terms). I must admit, sometimes it is funny, but mostly a pain in my you know what. Here is some of it documented.
Hair pulling! And sweaty hair!
All I was trying to do was get a decent picture with the two of them together... never happened
NO A/C!!!!
So our AC went out today.. thankfully right now it is working overtime to get the house cooled to a decent temp... I'm thinking 60 at this point! Right now it's 80. I always suspected Eli had my inability to adapt to hot temps... and I'm right. He was so cranky and sweaty today, poor guy. Lydia seems to be just like Micheal... she hardly noticed it was hot at all, I think she preferred it this temperature. Here are some pictures to remember this horrible day. See if you notice the difference.

Happy Fathers Day!
Happy Father's day Michael! To celebrate the kids were GREAT! I couldn't believe it. It's almost like they knew it was his day. In the morning Lydia and I cooked breakfast for Michael and then we all played and went to the inside park (raining... again). We went to the pool with Grammy in the afternoon and had a great time. I loved it! Michael said he did too. It was a great weekend.
LOVE YOU MICHAEL

Poor Eli's sick
It all started on Wednesday. Eli had a fever, pretty high, 102.6. So of course we started right away with Motrin. Michael's schedule has been crazy since he got a promotion, so I was trying to put off taking him to the doctor till the next morning. Unfortunately the lowest the fever ever got was 100.9, so in the AM we headed for the Ped. I thought it was so weird, because all he had was a fever, no coughing, sneezing, pulling at the ears, etc, that you would think it could be. So the doctor did her exam, and when she looked in his mouth she gasped! She goes, "Ahhh, ha! I know what it is! It's hand foot and mouth disease, but he only has the mouth part". Apparently it's better to just have the mouth part, but still not something anyone would ever want. This will last for 3-4 days minimum, and could be as long as 1 week or more, with the fever... and eventually ulcer like sores in the mouth. VERY PAINFUL. Elijah has been a trooper though, but you can tell he feels horrible. Today I was holding him and the only thing that would have him stop crying would be my singing. I must confess I have a soothing voice ;). Lydia was worried about Eli too, so she wanted to rub his back and sing along, making the song even more soothing I'm sure for Eli. An hour or so later, I walk into Lydia's room and find her sitting in her chair, rocking a baby doll and singing to her! How sweet! She is just adorable, copying me. When she saw me she simply explained that "baby sick too". Enough said.
While its been hard being cooped up in this house while Eli has been sick (Very contagious), Lydia has been good about not begging for "Parky" (That a request for the park/playground for those of you who don't know Lydia language). However, were only about 2 days into it. Eeekkk.

No, no, no!
This is Eli's favorite thing to do! Shake his head no, and while it is cute as a button now, I know what it will turn into. Ohh dear I have my hands full.
Happy 8 Months Eli!
It's Dancy dance time!
For those of you not in the know, there is a new children's show that is out. Most of my family knows that Lydia has LOVED "Yo Gabba, Gabba" for quite some time. Aunt Christy was kind enough to get her "Broby" for Christmas last year, and she has enjoyed it nearly every day! Here is a video of Lydia's dance moves, I must say she gets her moves from her mother. (That's a compliment for those of you confused.
Crawl on!
It's official, Eli is crawling! He is just shy of 8 months (1 month ahead of Lydia when she started). I will post a video of it. We knew it was coming very soon because we would put him down and all of a sudden he would be across the room. He would sit, move into crawl position, lunge onto tummy and repeat. Not very effective. As you see in the video, he still isn't too effective in his movements, but its all a matter of time. I can't believe my little man is growing up already!

Potty Time
Lydia has been showing some interest potty training lately, so we have decided to start potty training. I mean, why not, sure I'm trying to sell this house, going to school and looking for a new place to move, but I have some spare time. Surprisingly it is going GREAT! She loves it. We started Thursday and so far she has had very few accidents. She goes poo poo consistently on potty (she just runs there herself whenever she needs to go). Pee pee is going pretty good as well. She only has accidents if we are busy doing something and she doesn't want to take the break to go potty. She is even sleeping through the night and nap time without any accidents! Knock on wood, but girls do seem pretty easy to potty train.Note the book, she like to read while on the potty, I'm sure men would appreciate that.
