Worst mom of the year

It's official. I'm a very bad mom! Saturday morning I was in such a rush trying to collect Ranger (The Keller's dog) and trying to get home in time to meet the home inspector I did the unthinkable. I smashed poor Lydia's finger in the door. Not just any door, the Keller's incredibly heavy metal door. And to beat that, its the door you need to put a code into to open. So after smashing her finger I had to put the code in and then release her poor mangled finger. Michael heard the commotion and asked what was going on, and I told him what I did, and he basically goes "Honey!". It may sound innocent enough, but I felt so embarrassed and ashamed that I had mangled her poor finger, disfigured her! (OK, maybe I'm being a little dramatic, but seriously, that's how I felt.)

Thankfully I didn't break it, but if you ask Lydia what happened she'll tell you "mommy mashed finger, puppy", making me only feel that much worse every time I hear it.

Today we went to the doctor to make sure it's healing well, and I am glad to announce that I didn't break it!

Needless to say, every time that Michael goes anywhere when he comes home, he brings something for Lydia. I fear they have him wrapped around their fingers already.

We have a contract on our house!

Enough said! Now we have 2 more hurtles, home inspection and appraisal. Almost there! Now we just need to find out where we are going from here. Any idea's. And Jennifer, don't suggest North Carolina.

Happy Holler Palooza

Today we were lucky enough to be invited to the "Happy Holler palooza" by our friends the Merlands. It was HOT! but great. The kids had a great time in the bounce house and enjoying their free Ice creams. There was lots of music and freebies... which is always good. Great conversation. And if you can't tell, I am worn out, so maybe I'll edit this later and be a little more creative in my narrative. Until then, enjoy these pics of the kids.Miss Lydia enjoying her ice cream. She had her own method of eating it when it got down to the cone (her fingers). Here is Lydia and Wyatt (and someone else) going down the big slide. We had to all but pull Lydia away when it was time to go.Merland's enjoying their ice-creamsI think this is my favorite picture. I don't know why, but I love how Eli looks in it.The crowd at the Happy Holler
