BIG girl bed

We did it! We finally moved Lydia to her big girl bed. I think she may have been ready, but I wasn't. It's been a week since the big move and I think she is doing really well, for the most part. We made a big deal about her picking out her bed and bedding, which I think she didn't really understand the bed part. Every time I mentioned her getting a bed like mommy's she would respond "Sleep in mommies bed!". Either way, we got her bed put together and she was so excited. She couldn't hardly wait for me to put on the sheets to climb in and try it out. As soon as she was under the covers she said "Mommy, you get out, I'm sleepy". So I took that as a good sign. Over the last week she has "skipped" several naps, but she now understands that she's not supposed to get out of her room until mommy says its ok. So, naps consist of me laying her down, then, almost as soon as I close the door (this is assumed, I haven't confirmed it yet), she climbs out of bed and sits in front of her book shelf and "reads". Sometimes she carries them to bed and reads them under the covers and when I come to check on her, she is actually asleep.. VICTORY! Night time is a different story. She stays in her bed and goes to sleep... that simple. Well, until about 11:00 when she tells me to come sleep in her bed. So, we are getting there, our little girl is growing up.

Lydia all snuggled in her bed
Eli was excited about the bed too, mainly because it's low enough for him to get on himself... and off
